Here at Velcro Companies, we strive to make Amazing Connections everyday through not only our various products and technology—but most importantly, our direct dialogue with partners, customers and the communities we serve. In addition to our deep commitment to education and bettering the lives of children all over the world, we’re also supportive of the arts community, as demonstrated through our sponsorship of the Palace Theater in Manchester, NH.
Recently, we were approached by talented artist, Karin Giusti who was working on an installation for the Smack Mellon Gallery in New York City. Ms. Giusti utilizes sculpture and photography and was looking for a reliable solution to adhere the digitally stitched photographs to back lit pillars. Problem solved! With the help of our Low-Profile VELCRO® Brand fasteners, she was able to bring her beautiful vision to life within a darkened gallery environment.
The installation, Three Seasons at Black Forest Farm, features captured memories from her life at a remote farmhouse with her late partner Stephen G. Schwarz, a firefighter and 9/11 First Responder who passed away from the after-effects of working in the wreckage. This exhibition serves as a tribute not just to Schwarz but is also meant to honor all First Responders.
We are very excited to be a sponsor of this exhibit which opened on September 26th and runs through December 13th, 2015. For more information, please visit smackmellon.org.
