Materials
- Two pieces of material
- Cushion inner
- VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back for Fabrics Tape
- Needle
- Thread
- Ruler
- Scissors
1. Cut material to size and pin in place
Start by cutting out two large pieces of your chosen material – it should be around 1½ inches wider than your cushion inner all the way around.
2. Sew the two pieces of material together
Next, take a needle and thread and sew the two pieces of material together on three sides with small stitches. Sew an inch into the fourth side at each corner and leave the rest open.
3. Turn it inside out
Next, turn your cushion cover inside out. You should be able to see it taking shape by now!
4. Attach VELCRO® Brand Stick On for Fabrics Tape
Now take a pack of VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back for Fabrics Tape and measure two strips that are the same length as your cushion cover.
Fold the open edge over slightly and then stick the hook tape on one side and the loop tape on the other.
5. Insert the cushion inner
Your homemade cushion cover is almost finished… Now is the time to insert your cushion inner.
6. Close the cushion cover
Finally, fasten both strips of VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back for Fabrics Tape together for a clean cushion closure.
And there you have it! An easy DIY cushion cover, made without a sewing machine.
