Yesterday we welcomed students from Central High School in Manchester, NH to our facility. Next week, we’ll be meeting with groups from Somersworth HS and Pinkerton Academy as part of our work with NH MEP (New Hampshire Manufacturing and Extension Partnership). The idea of the partnership, which also includes the University of New Hampshire College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, is to expose more students to the innovative work being done locally and to introduce them to career possibilities in the manufacturing industry.
The hope is that by bringing students into small and medium size manufacturers the seeds for future collaboration get planted. There’s no better equation for strengthening community than inspiring local students to attend local universities and succeed at local jobs.
As Zenagui Brahim, president of NH MEP, said, “This is the beginning of a strong collaboration for years to come.”
