Materials Needed:
– VELCRO® Brand Thin Hanging Strips (I used 2 packages)
– VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back® Coins or Strips
– White and Yellow Cardstock paper (8½” x 11”)
– Foam Core Boards (20” x 30” each) – I used 3 for my amount of words/emojis
– Glue Stick
– Kathy’s Free Printable Best Wedding Wishes Words and Emojiis PDF
Tools Needed:
– Scissors
– Craft Knife, Metal Ruler and Self-Healing Cutting Mat
– Camera
Let’s get printing and cutting…
Download and print out the free printable Wedding Wishes words PDF onto colored cardstock paper that coordinates with your wedding colors. If you’d like to add names, dates and words, please download and type into the Wedding Wishes Blank PDF in Adobe Reader (not your web browser) and print.
Glue printouts onto foam core boards, with pages touching, using either glue stick or spray mount, and let dry.
Cut the words apart using a craft knife, ruler and cutting mat.
Here’s how to do it: Put the ruler against the cutting line and hold down with your left hand, then slide the craft knife along the edge. You’ll get perfect lines!
Print out emojis onto white cardstock paper, glue to foam core, and cut out using a craft knife. I used a metal circle bowl from my kitchen to help me cut perfect circles.
Add a VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back® coin (scratchy hook side) to the back of the words and emojis, or cut a small piece from VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back® Strips (scratchy hook side). Both work well so it’s your choice.
Most words will only need one coin but you can choose to use two coins on very long words.
At the venue, cut the wall side of the VELCRO® Brand Thin Hanging Strips in half.
Clean and dry wall surfaces. Place wall side strips of VELCRO® Brand Thin Hanging Strips in a level row. I used my handy iPhone level app.
VELCRO® Brand Thin Hanging Strips are designed for smooth walls; not for use on wallpaper, non-painted brick/concrete or other porous materials – see other VELCRO® Brand products for other surfaces.
Repeat for four rows. Or you can make more rows with more strips.
Add words and emojis to the wall, take photos, remove words and emojis, spell more wedding wishes and repeat.
When the wedding reception is over, remove word tiles and slowly and carefully peel strips from the wall.
It comes off cleanly and easily.
