Taking part in Elf on the Shelf this year? When you’re a busy parent, we know how difficult it can be to come up with a new idea every single day. But luckily, help is at hand!
Read on for a selection of fun new Elf on the Shelf ideas to try in 2018 – including a clever way to get out of moving your elf for a couple of days!
Build a den
It’s so much fun getting up in the morning to see what your elf has been doing during the night – and we love the idea of building a den!
Our elf used a VELCRO® Brand Blocks Construction Set but you could use whatever you have lying around!
Swing from the Christmas tree
This naughty elf made a paper chain with VELCRO® Brand ONE-WRAP® Reusable Ties and used it to swing from the Christmas tree!
Stuck to the wall
How about sticking your elf to the wall with some VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back Coins and making it look like the other toys did it?
Steal a chocolate from the advent calendar
Those elves can be so sneaky! This one was caught red-handed making a lasso from a pack of VELCRO® Brand ONE-WRAP® Reusable Ties so he could steal a chocolate from the advent calendar!
Have a snowball fight
This naughty elf was caught having a snowball fight with the VELCRO® Brand Blocks dinosaurs (we stuck cotton wool balls to their hands with VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back Coins).
Walk on stilts
Got loads of wrapping paper lying around the house? Take two rolls and turn them into a pair of stilts for your elf! We wrapped each roll with a VELCRO® Brand ONE-WRAP® Reusable Tie, which is also a great way to keep your wrapping paper tidy!
Broken leg
Need a break from Elf on the Shelf? Here’s a great reason to not move your elf for a couple of days – pretend he’s broken his leg and must rest (on doctor’s orders!) We used a pack of white VELCRO® Brand ONE-WRAP® Reusable Ties to make a pretend plaster cast!
Leave a note
Last but not least, how about leaving a note from your elf? This mischievous elf left a note saying ‘be good’ in VELCRO® Brand Stick Back Coins!
