How to make a DIY face shield – step-by-step
Start by gathering your materials. You can pick up A4 sheets of acetate cheaply from online craft stores and once you have it, you’ll need to take a pair of scissors to round off the edges.
Next, take a pair of glasses and a pack of VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back Squares. You can use any glasses you choose – if you have a spare pair lying around the house, they would be perfect. Make sure the frame is going to be wide enough to give the sticky back squares enough surface area to stick to.
Now stick the loop side of a VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back Square to each side to each side of your glasses (the loop side is the soft side).
Then stick the hook side to each side of your sheet of acetate and fix it to your glasses. Before you attach the sticky back square to your glasses, it’s a good idea to roughly measure where you want it to go.
And there you have it – a DIY face shield that’s easy to make in minutes! After every wear, the acetate is easy to remove and clean to allow you to maintain good hygiene.
