How To Make A Seashell Collecting Bag
What You’ll Need:

- Two 6″ x 18″ pieces of mesh or net fabric
- Two 12″ pieces of ¾” ribbon
- Heavy-duty interfacing
- VELCRO® Brand Sleek & Thin™ Sticky Back Fasteners

1. To start, iron or sew the interfacing to the fabric. This will be used for the top of the bag later. Next, cut your fabric.
Top of The Bag
2. To create the top of the bag, iron a ¼” inseam lengthwise to the fabric.
3. To create the handles, place one piece of fabric facedown and sandwich the ribbon ends between the second piece of fabric. You’ll want to leave a 1″ overlap. Pin, or clip in place and topstitch a 1/8″ inseam.
Repeat this step for the other side of the bag.
Bottom of The Bag
4. Layer the mesh fabric pieces on top of each other. Next, tuck one end between the top of the bag’s cloth layers and overlap 1″. Pin or clip in place and topstitch an 1/8″ inseam.
Repeat this step for the other side of the bag.
5. Next, fold the bag in half, pin or clip in place and sew the sides of the bag with a ½” inseam.
6. Turn the bag out and attach a 4″ piece of VELCRO® Brand Sleek & Thin™ Fasteners to the inside of the bag.
And that’s it! Head to the beach and gather some treasures!
