Designing a home can take a lot of careful thought and planning, but when it comes to adding textures, patterns, and colors, hanging rugs in unusual places can help to bring warmth to your space. In this easy DIY tutorial, we’ll show you how to hang a rug on your wall with VELCRO® Brand Industrial Strength Fasteners.
What You’ll Need:
- 1 Staple gun and staples
- 1 1/8” wide piece of wood that is as long as your rug
- 1 Rug less than 5 pounds
- 1 Pack of VELCRO® Brand Industrial Strength Tape (15ft x 2in roll)
How to Hang a Rug on the Wall
Once you’ve picked out your rug, take the piece of wood and lay it on the back of the carpet. Make sure the wood is positioned as straight as possible because this will be your backer.
Next, flip both the rug and wood around and staple through the two materials.
Once your staples are secured, cut the VELCRO® Brand Industrial Strength Tape to length.
Remove the liner and place the loop tape on the wooden strip and the hook tape on the wall. Firmly press the fastener down, wait 15 minutes for the adhesive to cure, and hang.
And that’s it!
If you decide the rug looks a little crooked, you can easily reposition it.
