MANCHESTER, N.H. – March 23, 2023 – Velcro Companies introduced the VELCRO® Brand PRESS-LOK® 954 closure system designed specifically for use with 2-10kg monolayer polyethylene laminate flexible packaging.
As the global flexible packaging market moves to mono-material packaging for increased recycling, manufacturers face challenges applying the lower temperatures needed to minimize film distortion and maximize aesthetics.
As part of a focus on developing new sustainable product innovations, the VELCRO® Brand PRESS-LOK® 954 closure system is a fully recyclable monolayer polyethylene closure* that is easy to process onto recyclable polyethylene structures and weighs 20% less than first-generation VELCRO® Brand PRESS-LOK® closures.

This makes re-closure quick, easy and reliable even for those with dexterity issues, children and the elderly.
Designed to quickly and easily integrate with recyclable monolayer polyethylene laminate pouches, the VELCRO® Brand PRESS-LOK® 954 closure system joins the PRESS-LOK® product range and features:
- A 20% lighter closure system** that requires less heat and pressure to seal the pouch edges, allowing a tight seal without leakage.
- A dedicated sealant layer technology allowing heat seal initiation at a 30ºC (86º F) lower temperature, optimizing pouch aesthetics.
